Â
me and my ipod (no more) nothing went as planned today my ipod is spoilt, so i went down to the apple centre after school. Reaching there, they tell me that the service centre is only open at 1130. Fine. So i waited. Then when it's my turn, what do you know, apple doesnt repair hard-disk problems in ipod. So if you have a problem...what do u do? Spend $500 excluding gst and buy a new one. If you want to check in case...fine...pay $40. U mean ipods are not repairable? So in case anything happens accidentally, sorry, buy a new one. It's only $500. It's like ipods are do disposable aren't they? I mean, u never know when it might spoil right, so just accidentally it spoils after the warranty period, u buy a new one. I dun think im the only person ever with a spoilt ipod rite? Worse still, my experience at the centre was absolutely horrible. It's not the person's fault lah, it's kinda mine coz im all sad bout the ipod and stuff. But still...here's part of my conversation with the person..(not word for word lah..but something like that) Me: What are the charges like without warranty? Person: If it's a hard-drive problem, we dun do repairs so it's $500 for a new set excluding gst. Me: 0_0 Okay, can i call my mum first? (Phone call to mum) Me: Ok i'll sent it in for diagnosis but will you call me first to decide? Person: Ya, but to tell u now, it's a hard drive problem( or whatever problem) coz....blah blah...and even if i sent it in my collegues are still gonna tell u the same thing. Me: !!!! (silent-Are you gonna like point me in the direction of the ipods?) By then i tell u i was already damn pissed. So i just said nevermind and left ( in a utterly bad mood). Shall let my dad argue it out with the company. Aniway, as a suggestion for apple. Why can't they make it in such a way that repairs for hard-drive problems are possible? I mean, people are highly likely to have problems with the hard-drive rite, and not only within the warranty period. What if it's not our fault, it's the ipod itself, we're still expected to buy the whole set. Furthermore, with experiences like this, how do u still expect people to trust in the set? I mean, i never know if it'll spoil again rite. And if it ever does, what, i buy a whole new set? No way am i gonna do that, might as well buy another brand rite. Why take the risk? It just spoils the reputation doesnt it? But i guess it wont affect business much, since it's a branded good, people would just get it even if it means the risk. FINE!!! (Note: NOTHING above was written to condemn apple or its product)
