gym comp 2005 hmm...seems like i havent updated for about 9 months already. To think it all started out cos somehow this page didnt allow me to type anything in this box. Anyway, gym comp is finally over. It's sort of a relief but also kinda sad. Im not sure if i'll still take gym in jc though my parents would rather me take an outdoor sport. Apparently, i have become more sickly in secondary school since i joined gym compared to when i was in track in primary school. Whatever it is, rhythmic gym for the past 4 years have indeed been memorable despite the bruises, cries and constant complains. After the comp, i can safely say that my decision not to quit gym in sec 2 or 3 was the right one. The past year was probably the toughest i had but also the most enjoyable and fulfilling. How will i ever forget the training times i had with Cheryl, Pauline and the rest of Raffles Rhythmic Gymnastic Family. Thanks for all the cheers and encouragement throughout trainings and RGS RSG '05 totally rules. Im being non-coherant here, but back to comps. This is probably the best comp i had in my 4 years of gym. Never in the earlier three years have i felt truely satisfied with my performance. Despite going into the finals as the favourite to win, we always made a mistake that cost us the gold on the final day. First on first day, second on second day. To some extent I was afraid it was going to be a yearly "ritual" especially after seeing the ijtp xiao jiti make a small mistake. Fortunately it was not to be and they got the gold aniwae. On that matter, i think they truely deserve the gold. So what if they made a mistake and the other school didnt, the routine is not only about getting the elements completed perfectly. There's also how nicely they did the routine and i believe they did the routine with style and poise. The gold rightly belongs to them. Overall, RGS RSG this year was great, sweeping all the b'div golds and challenge trophy for the 5th year running. Dajiti was especially amazing this year. Zhixu, Aster, Gerry, Yiwei and Fiona did an excellent job completing the elements and bringing out the essence of the routine. In one word, it was awesome. You guys had the entire RG and ijtp team behind u and yall didnt let us down. As for xiaojiti, with only that short period of time to train and not so much attention given from lao shi, to have achieved the standard that yall had and medalling was not and easy feat. Good job to Lim Jie, Shona, Hazel, Limei, Yuan Kei, Louise and Casatrina, continue to work hard next year, im sure the gold can be yours. As for the indivs, we totally rock this year. Im being egoistic, but who cares, we swept the b'div gold and silver awards...fair and square. We worked hard for it, who can argue...hmm??? As for kaiyan, good try this year, being the only competitor from out school in the c'div indiv event. WIth so little training, being able to go up there and complete the event itself is a feat. Finally, great job by cherrie, melissa and jolene. Optional events were made even more interesting and impressive by your perfomances. How many can do the things ur did?? Everyone was left in awe=) So overall gym comp was fantabulous. We achieved our target of well over 30 medals in all and thanks goes out to all members of RGS RSG. Not forgetting the ijtp RSG team whom we made great friends with training with them. Thanks for your support during the comp and the ice cream. Last but not least, to our seniors who competed or came down to support.
